Linda Ahearn

Linda Ahearn – Professional Artist/Instructor/Gallery Owner Linda Ahearn, who is a local artist in Tucson, Arizona, owns and operates Toscana Studio and Gallery. Linda began her art career at the age of 12 with oil painting classes. She continued to
focus in oil until her junior year of college, when she attended art school overseas in Florence, Italy. At Gonzaga in Florence, Linda learned a mass of diverse sculpture methods, and was positively inspired by the master sculptors' work in Europe. She
earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Holy Names College in Oakland, CA in 1984.

Since then, Linda has been involved in myriad continuing education courses in the visual arts, constantly refining her techniques, learning new mediums, and expanding her knowledge. She specializes in figurative clay and bronze sculpture, and is actively seeking public art commissions for bronze monuments around the United States. Linda has received a major public art commission in Oro Valley, AZ, and also accepts private commissions. She continues to paint prolifically, mostly from live models, and this helps to feed her inspirations for her sculptures.

Linda is very active in the community art scene and has been a representative on many art panels for selection of exceptional artists for awards. She received a Directors Award for Tucson Pima Art Council Open Studio Tour in 2008, and continues to be on several art jury panels throughout Tucson. Linda is a member of several artists’ organizations; the National Sculpture Society; the Southern Arizona Arts Guild; the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance; and the Greater Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce.

In August 2013, Linda Ahearn received the Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce's Community Leader of the Year. She received the award for her work in teaching area youth about art and life. Linda continues teaching children and adults painting and sculpture, as she has for many years now. Linda has inspired scores of students to look within and find their sparks of creativity to express themselves.

Giving unending love and support to Linda are three beloved people: the love of her life and husband of 25+ years, Terry Ahearn; and her two marvelous children, Haley and Cole. Linda finds peace in their arms. The whole community and countless friends of Toscana have also given their fantastic support to create this spectacular treasure in the Oro Valley foothills. Toscana Studio and Gallery is a working art studio in Northwest Tucson, Arizona, and specializes in painting, sculpture, and three-dimensional art.
