Kathy’s studio is located near a desert preserve which she feels provides a delightful study in contrasts.  Subjects for paintings and sculpture often come from what she sees outside the studio window. There is a chalky pallet of color and everything is riddled with scratches and uneven textures. Her paintings  reach out to you with that texture and at the same time lose you in an atmosphere that is soft and inviting.  They convey a sense of flora and fauna, without the details of conventional painting techniques.  The sense of whimsy and calm in her work  appeals to her international array of collectors.  The ever present spheres that bounce throughout the paintings represent an infinite connection we share with Mother Nature.  Kathy’s art truly calls to bring indoors what you celebrate outdoors.
