Robin Chlad (pronounced sha-lad) has been an artist all her life, with a focused passion for ceramics in all its forms. Originally from upstate New York, she has called Tucson home since 1986. She attended Pima Community College in 1987 and founded her ceramic design business, Art & Clay Designs, in 1989.Robin began in the wholesale sector with a product that catapulted her into success—not only as an artist, but as a businesswoman. As she developed a flair for creating highly marketable clay designs, she expanded into custom work, producing fun and functional pottery, tile mosaics, sculpture, and distinctive ornaments.

Her work is often described as contemporary, whimsical and joyful with a Southwest influence. Playful, bright, bold, and thoughtfully executed, each piece reflects her commitment to quality and craftsmanship—something her collectors have come to recognize and appreciate.
