Pat Aguilar
Iwas born in New York, 1949. My father was a military man, Col. Hanz Druener. About every 2 to 3 years we moved to another base. I liked that a lot. There was always opportunity to be more well rounded, or start
over growing up.
I went to a trade school after High School in North Carolina, studying accounting and math. My counselor ,
because I was studying so much math, suggested I take up an art. Pottery was it. After completing school,
I worked as a bookkeeper for several years. I married and had 3 children. Accounting takes up a lot of time and work, so we decided I stay home and begin my Pottery career.
I do slab work mostly. Miniature houses, masks, women figures. Because I love beading, I started adding beads to the women figures. Once the kids were in school, I started working with another potter, Maxine Guy, in Tubac.
She had a wonderful walk in size gas kiln. I would spend 18 hours firing it, lots of time to work and meditate.
I had a gallery for almost 30 years in Tubac, The Feminine Mystique Art Gallery. Over 75 women were
represented there. I closed in 2025.
Esther Rogoway at the Horses in Motion Gallery carries my work. She is located behind the deli in La Entrada Plaza. Horses in Motion has a great collection of Art, some very talented people. La Entrada has a lot to offer.
Please visit Tubac and enjoy the beauty, the shops and fantastic restaurants.
